Response to shortfall within sugar beet fungicide sprays

It has been reported that there is a shortage of availability of fungicide sprays, Priori Gold and Angle, to treat diseases such as Cercospora Leaf Spot in sugar beet. Cercospora can cause significant yield losses so it is essential growers have access to the appropriate tools to protect their crops.
The beet sugar industry are working together with the Health & Safety Executive to find a workable solution so that growers have a range of options to protect their crops.
In the meantime, the British Beet Research Organisation are monitoring the situation within the fields so that growers can make informed treatment decisions.
