Graduate recruitment - British Sugar bucks the trend

British Sugar is looking to substantially increase its graduate recruitment intake in 2009 and is actively seeking applications from graduates and undergraduates in engineering, business, finance and agricultural disciplines. This ongoing commitment to graduate recruitment is in contrast to recent surveys showing many companies planning to trim their graduate recruitment in 2009.

Commenting, Michele Rowlands British Sugar Group's HR Director said, "In contrast to other recruiters we have substantially increased the number of graduates we are looking for in both our UK and international schemes. We are especially interested in those from engineering, business, finance and agricultural disciplines.

"Graduate recruitment is an essential talent pipeline for our business and will deliver British Sugar's future senior managers. Our schemes offer rapid progress with very early responsibility that will stretch and develop high calibre graduates."
