GMP Continous Improvement Engineer

The role of the GMP Improvement Manager is to champion GMP on site and lead the activity programme to deliver lasting improvement in the factory environment and the behaviours necessary to inspire customer confidence, deliver guaranteed product quality and be recognised at ‘best in class’.

Based at Newark Factory the role reports to the Factory Manager but will have a dotted line into the Head of GMP to ensure delivery of a consistent and effective set of standards, processes and systems.

 Key Results Areas

  • Define the capital investment priorities for the site & ensure that the approved programme is implemented
  • Manage the local ‘5S’ programme to improve the workplace environment
  • Manager the audit programme to ensure continued compliance and identify opportunities for improvement – internal, BRC, ISO audits, etc
  • Manage Q&FS issues and improvement activities.
  • Manage customer audits and visits
  • Deliver the Q&FS training programme
  • Ensure the communication programme is effective on site

The successful candidate in this role will have a detailed knowledge of Quality, Food Safety and Business Management Systems along with knowledge of GMP and the application of the principles of ‘5S’. Ideally they will also have a NEBOSH general certificate and advanced food hygiene qualifications. Food manufacturing process knowledge along with project management experience will also be highly desirable. The successful candidate will be also required to be involved in customer visits and customer facing activities.

Applicants must have a proven track record, excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to develop systems of work and influence these at all levels. A tenacious, hard working action oriented approach is important as is the ability to make quality decisions and solve problems.
