The PME & British Sugar Icecraft Trophy
Live Competition 2009 With REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS and FINAL at CAKE 2009, NEC, BIRMINGHAM
How to enter To enter the competition you need to supply a photograph of an original, decorated cake, to fit within a 38cm (15”) square, that you are prepared to re-create at a live, regional semi final, within the time constraints and rules of the competition.
Entry is free, terms and conditions apply. Competitors may submit a maximum of two different entries for selection. A panel of experienced judges will select the semi-finalists from the photographs submitted.
The closing date is 30th April 2009

Regional Semi-Finals Semi-finals will be held at weekends in the regions listed below during June and July. Competitors are asked to submit their selection of venue on the entry form. 1. London and the South 2. East Anglia & the Midlands 3. The North and Scotland 4. Wales and the West
Grand Final – Live competition The Grand Final will be held LIVE at Cake 2009 on Sunday 8th November 2009. Finalists will be required to create a new, original decorated cake to fit within a 38cm (15”) square in three hours.
Closing date The closing date is 30th April 2009. Late entries only accepted at the organiser’s discretion.
Prizes – Grand Final 1st Prize - The Icecraft Trophy and £500.00 (cheque/vouchers) + certificate
2nd Prize - £200.00 (£150.00 cheque/vouchers plus £50.00 in Knightsbridge PME & British Sugar products + certificate)
3rd Prize - £100.00 (£75.00 cheque/vouchers plus £25.00 in Knightsbridge PME & British Sugar products + certificate)
All Finalists will receive £75.00 (£50.00 cheque/vouchers plus £25.00 in Knightsbridge PME & British Sugar products + certificate).
Prizes - Best of the Semi-Finalists Those awarded second place at the Semi-Finals will be invited to reproduce their cake again, for judging on Saturday 7th November 2008. • 1st Place will receive £50.00 (cheque/vouchers) + certificate • All remaining contestants £35.00 in Knightsbridge PME & British Sugar products + certificate
Award guidelines Each entry should be the unaided work of the competitor whose name appears on the entry form. The judges will be looking for the following: • creativity/development of new ideas • workmanship/craft skills shown • composition/colour and proportion • presentation and visual appeal • good working practices and use of the required elements.
