British Sugar has a proven history of being at the forefront of adopting industry-leading standards.
Our principles and commitment to the success of our customers requires that we maintain industry leading quality standards. British Sugar strives to achieve excellence in service, production and distribution.
We operate robust management systems for business and environment, which revolve around the principle of continuous monitoring, review and improvement. We have a history of the highest food safety standards and all of our factories hold a
BRC A grade and are certified to
ISO 9001:2008. The environmental standard
ISO 14001 has been held at all sites since 2004.
Health and Safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of daily operations and in 1999 we implemented the UK food industry’s first Health and Safety management system certificated to
OHSAS 18001 at all of our operating sites. We went on to become the first company in the world to have our occupational Health & Safety management system externally certified by Lloyds RQA to OHSAS 18001.
Our priorities are periodically reviewed to achieve the high standards that our customers, employees, stakeholders and neighbours deserve and expect.
