BUILDING RURAL ECONOMIES

Building rural agricultural economies is vital to the long-term success of the UK beet sugar industry. It's important that the beet we process is grown and harvested on average 28 miles from our four advanced manufacturing plants in East Anglia and the East Midlands.

British Sugar's growers meet the requirements of The Red Tractor cereal and sugar beet assurance standards which, combined with UK legislative requirements, have achieved silver level equivalence with Sustainability Agriculture Initiative's Platform's Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) 2.1.
